Experimental Investigation on Self Compacting Concrete Using Quarry Dust
نویسنده
چکیده
This study presents an experimental investigation on self-compacting concrete (SCC) with fine aggregate (sand) replacement of a Quarry Dust (QD) (0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, 100%) and addition of mineral admixtures like Fly Ash (FA) and Silica Fume (SF) & chemical admixtures like super plasticizers (SP). After each mix preparation, 45 cubes specimens and 45 cylinders specimens are cast and cured. The specimens are cured in water for 3, 7 & 28 days. The slump, Vfunnel and L-Box test are carried out on the fresh SCC and in harden concrete compressive strength and split tensile strength values are determined. Attempts have been made to study the properties of such SCCs and to investigate the suitability of Quarry Dust to be used as partial replacement materials for sand in SCC. Index Terms — SCC, Fly Ash, Silica Fume, Quarry Dust, Super plasticizer, compressive strength, split tensile strength.

Investigation of Mechanical Properties of Self Compacting Polymeric Concrete with Backpropagation Network
Acrylic polymer that is highly stable against chemicals and is a good choice when concrete is subject to chemical attack. In this study, self-compacting concrete (SCC) made using acrylic polymer, nanosilica and microsilica has been investigated. The results of experimental testing showed that the addition of microsilica and acrylic polymer decreased the tensile, compressive and bending strength...
متن کاملRapid Chloride Permeability Test on Self-Compacting High Performance Green Concrete
Self-compacting concrete (SCC) is one of the most significant advances in concrete technology in the last two decades. SCC was developed to ensure adequate compaction through self-consolidation and facilitate placement of concrete in structures with congested reinforcement and in restricted areas. Marble Sludge Powder (MSP) can be used as filler and helps to reduce the total voids content in co...
متن کاملAn Experimental Study on Effect of Waste Tire Rubber on the Fresh and Hardened Behavior of Self-compacting Concrete
The development of environmentally accepted methods of used tire disposal is one of the greatest challenges that waste management experts face today. Use of waste rubber particles as aggregate in self-compacting concrete is a suitable solution for the environmental hazards of waste tires being produced on a large scale. The aim of this work is to investigate the influence of the size of waste r...

This paper reports the properties of two series of flowable self-compacting slurry (SCS). In Series 1, a limestone quarry by-product, fine crushed sand (FCS), and ponded-CCPs were used. For Series 2, standard concrete sand and ponded-CCPs were used. For Series 1, five mixtures and for Series 2, six mixtures of flowable SCS were made. Ponded-CCPs and limestone quarry FCS content of the mixtures ...

In this study, first, different mix design of four types of Self-Compacting Concrete (SCC), 1. SCC consisted of only nanosilica, 2. SCC included only microsilica, 3. SCC consisted of both microsilica and nanosilica and 4. SCC without microsilica and nanosilica called as control mix, were casted and tested to find out the values of the Slump Flow, L-Box and 7 and 28 days compressive strength. Th...
